On your wedding day, you still want to look like yourself, just a more perfect version. This is where make-up comes in, but remember that you still have to suit your theme and be true to yourself. You don't want to have so much make-up on that your groom can barely recognize you.
2012 make-up trends are leaning towards a natural look. Clean, clear skin, and creamy blushes in peaches and pinks. Since vintage glamour is becoming increasingly popular, bright red lips and soft smoky eyes are in. Your eye make-up is a great way to add some color to your make-up without overdoing it. Soft tones, shimmery colors, and subtle highlighting in the right places will ensure that all eyes are on you in a good way.
Try to pick one aspect of your face that you would like to stand out and stick with it. If you are partial to your lips and want them to be noticed, go with either a bold color or a shiny gloss over a softer one. If you want to bring out your cheekbones, highlight them with a blush that suits your skin tone. If you want your eyes to be the most noticeable, use eyeliner and layered eye shadow to create a dramatic look.
Remember to do a trial run or two before the big day. Decide what sort of look you want to have, and work from there. Play around with different areas of your face and use different colors of blush and eye shadow. Try not to do any facial waxing too close to the date as that could cause irritation that requires a lot of liquid make-up to hide. Keep in mind that the more make-up you have on, the more maintenance it will require. If you don't want to have to skip to the powder room every hour for a touch-up, try to minimize the amount of cover-up that you use.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy being the center of attention!
