Here is their engagement story:

Our engagement day began at 10:30 am on October 29, 2011. When I got to his house, I saw that he had decorated the dining room for a beautiful, romantic brunch for two. The table was set for two with turquoise daisies as the center piece (My favorite flower and color). I sat down as he poured me champagne. There on my place mat was a card. He told me to open it so I did, as he prepared home-made waffles in the kitchen. On the front it said "Acts of Service" and inside was written a little note about acts of service. I recognized the phrase from the book we had been reading called "The five love languages". After we had enjoyed our brunch, he took me for a walk around town. We stopped in front of a house and he pulled out another card that said "Physical Touch". Then as I was reading it, he asked if I would like a pedicure. Inside we sat side by side listening to soothing instrumental music while getting pampered by the pedicurist. After that, we took a drive into the city. Pulling up in front of a beautiful park, he told me to open the glove compartment in front of me. Out popped another card, this time saying "Quality time". Now after reading the book, I had realized that my love language is, by a landslide, quality time, so I knew he must have planned something extra special for this one. We started walking through the park, hand in hand, talking about everything and anything. Pulling up to the side of a stream, he pulled out two pieces of bread from his pocket and we sat there feeding the ducks and laughing at the funny things they did to get the food. When we ran out of bread, he led me to a cluster of trees with a water fall and beautiful, colorful leaves. He pulled me in front of him and asked me which of the 5 love languages I had already received. So I told him. Then he asked me which ones were left. So I said, "Words of Affirmation and Gift giving", a smile forming on my face. I started to realize where it was leading. So right there, he said a prepared speech telling me why he wanted to spend forever with me and then... he got down on one knee and asked if I would be his wife. I said yes through choked back tears and he put the ring on my finger. As we were walking back up the slope, he told me there was another surprise. From behind a bush stood his friend with a camera. He had shot pictures of the whole scene. We then went out to a fancy restaurant and spent the rest of the evening talking about the rest of our lives together.
