A few tips when preparing a candy buffet:

Do your research: the web is a pool of information for Brides and Grooms to be! Search up pictures of candy buffets for inspiration before you shop; it will make the selection process much easier.

Have a budget in mind: Decide how much you'd like to spend, and when dealing with bulk, try to gauge your estimate based on weight per guest (for example, 150 grams or 200 grams per attendee). You'll be able to figure out the total weight of candy required to satisfy everyone without going too overboard and being left with oodles of candy to eat!

Bring in what you're filling: If you are preparing candy favors, bring a sample of the container you will be filling with candy with you when shopping. If you are showcasing a candy buffet, bring in a few of the containers you will be using on the table. As a cost-friendly rule of thumb, fill the larger containers with lighter candy (such as salt water taffy or gummies) and the smaller containers with the heavier products (such as jawbreakers or Jelly Belly's).

Throw in some accents, and give them away: Colorful Whirly Pops, rock candy sticks, or chocolate bars make a great accent to any candy buffet table, and are great giveaways to children or as raffle prizes during reception activities. You only need to purchase a few, and they're great for photos!

Customize your goodie bag on a budget: Pick up some small paper bags (Creative Packaging, Edmonton) and customize them with a stamp of the Bride and Groom's initials. Leave them on the table for your guests to fill with sweets. Keep in mind the size of your goodie bags; guests will likely fill it, so keep the bag at an appropriate individual size.

Use a Filler: If you have one or more beautiful, large pieces you would like to fill for your candy buffet but are waaaaay too large to fill to the rim with candy, consider using an eye-pleasing and inexpensive filler to take up some space on the bottom, such as white sugar, or sugar crystals.
