Canada was shocked last week when news broke that two of it's most famous rockers are getting hitched... to each other!
Avril Lavigne found her Sk8tr Boi in the form of Nickelback's frontman Chad Kroeger, People exclusively revealed. Originally getting together this past February, where Kroeger, 37, was helping the 27-year old songstress pen a new song for her upcoming album. According to family and friends they have the same values and really understand each other. The couple has kept their courtship on the serious down low with few people even knowing that they were dating.

But alas, they fell in love, and on August 8th, Kroeger proposed to Lavigne with a 14-carat diamond ring. Yes, 14 carats. The ring was a custom design done at XIVKARATS in Beverly Hills. According to the designer, it's Lavigne's dream ring - a platinum-set pear-shape diamond with half moons around the side.
It will be the first marriage for Kroeger, and second for Lavigne, who was previously married to another Canadian rocker, Sum 41's frontman Deryck Whibley. She also dated Brody Jenner, who she has matching tattoos with.
Maybe Lavigne finally did find her happy ending...
