And the entertainment world just keeps on surprising us...

This past weekend, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina was host to the secret wedding of two of today's most hottest, and stylish, celebrities - Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

The two first met on the set of the Green Lantern in 2011, where Lively, 25, played the love interest to Reynolds superhero character. Having been romantically linked for close to a year, the two have remained quite tight-lipped about their romance. Earlier this year the pair bought a home together in Bedford, NY, and have been spotted at the local gym together, as well as on quiet vacations, but have not commented on the stage of their relationship. Although no word of an engagement between the two was released, speculation started growing this weekend when the couple was spotted having dinner with Bette Midler in Charleston, followed by sightings of Lively's mother and sister in Mt. Pleasant. Late Sunday, a source confirmed to People magazine that the two got married this past Sunday evening.

Lively teamed up with Martha Stewart Weddings to plan a "intimate, personalized party" for immediate and extended family, and they had a month to do it. The two quietly tied the knot inside a white tent at Boone Hall Plantation, which gave them the rustic feel and enchanting feel they were hoping for. The Boone Hall Plantation is located just outside of Charleston in South Carolina, and is best known as being the summer home to Rachel McAdam's character in The Notebook. The ceremony was followed by a "fun-filled carnival hour and elegant reception", which included a performance from Florence Welch, lead singer of the band Florence + The Machine and close friend of the bride, who performed three songs at the reception, then followed by a deejay.

So what, and who, did the bride wear? The Gossip Girl star is known for her designer duds and relationships with fashion houses, both in character and on the red carpet. Perhaps it was Gucci, with Lively currently being the face of their newest fragrance. Or maybe it was a custom Chanel gown? Lively has a long-standing relationship with this Paris Fashion House, having been the face of their Mademoiselle Handbag Collection, and a muse to Karl Lagerfeld. However, the winning designer turned out to be Marchesa, whose head designer Georgina Chapman is another friend of the bride, who designed a one-of-a-kind couture bridal ball gown, complete with a "hand-draped silk tulle bodice" that was "adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery". Lively's bridesmaids also wore custom blush colored silk chiffon gowns. As for the shoes, one could assume she wore Louboutin's, as she has a friendship with the designer, who once gifted her with his entire 2012 collection. As for Reynolds, 35, he wore a custom Burberry suit, complete with custom leather suspenders. He probably lived up to his 2010 People's Sexiest Man Alive title. The two exchanged rings by Lorraine Schwartz.

This is the second marriage for Reynold, who was previously married to Scarlett Johansson (also in a covert wedding), until their divorce in 2010. Lively was previously in a relationship with her Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgely, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio.
