Timeless tradition: curtis & amy
|
Amy and I met while attending the University of Alberta. We got engaged on July 1st, 2008 (Amy's birthday) on a cliff overlooking the ocean during a summer vacation at my family's estate in Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts. My family is fortunate enough to have an estate in the vacation town of Manchester-by-the-sea, Massachusetts. The estate was originally bought by my great great grandfather, Greely S. Curtis (my namesake). The estate has been in my family since 1867 and I have spent every summer there since I was born. It is 40 acres and spans 1/3 of a mile of oceanfront. There are 5 houses on the estate, a stable, an orchard and tennis court. My grandparents and my parents were married at the Hopkinson House so we thought it would be fitting to have our wedding at the same house to keep the tradition going on August 21st, 2010. The Hopkinson House is the house that my grandmother grew up in. The Stone House (where the reception was) was the home of Greely S. Curtis and is a beautiful place to host a party. We kept the colors gentle with a cream, gold and a slight accent of the mallard green (like the dresses) as to not distract from the foliage and natural colors around the houses. It was a beautiful day and we had so many great moments with everyone over the two weeks. |
